Good Afternoon. My name is Chris Jackson
and this is my first visit to the Folk Club. Debbie has organized a
raffle and £40.00 has been raised for charity. The first performer was
the Tone Deaf Leopards whose acoustic guitar and bongo drum produced interesting
Folk / Rock music with excellent timing. Bill sung a couple of
traditional unaccompanied Folk Songs. Bill has a very nice voice and sung two
difficult songs. Joe
came on the stage with an interesting electric guitar without a body. Joe
played and sung a song with the guitar which sounded great. Joe finished off
playing a more traditional Folk song playing a Mandolin. Joan
Gifford from the Wivenhoe Folk Club ( My Guitar Teacher ) sung a number of
her famous slightly risqué songs mixed with traditional Folk
songs. Last week was Joans’
80th so we all sang
Happy Birthday. More
drinks and Raffle time. Debbie
started off the second half with an amusing story / experience of a teacher
taking a class of 5 year olds at School. The
Tone Deaf Leopards continued with a couple of their interesting flavour of
Folk / Rock music. Tea
Time Assortment ( Alan – Denise and Lola ), also from the Wivenhoe Folk
club followed with some of their professional and excellently arranged songs
in their own style, with a Folk / Blues flavour. |
